Dr. Brianna Cormier has been with MAVA since August 2021 and brings over 17 years of experience. A Howard County native, she earned her Biology degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she played Division 1 basketball, and her DVM from Tuskegee University.
She’s held many roles—assistant, researcher, and now Medical Director. Dr. Cormier values education, teamwork, and seeing sick pets recover.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, and powerlifting. Her furry crew includes Catahoula Leopard Dogs Mable and Micah, Tux the GSP, and Oliver the orange tabby—affectionately known as “Fat Fat.”
Dr. Anne Hicks brings years of experience and a gentle approach to MAVA every Monday. She’s passionate about internal medicine and preventive care, and she enjoys helping pets live longer, healthier lives. Known for her calm demeanor, Dr. Hicks builds lasting connections with clients and patients.
Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is finding the right treatment and seeing pets thrive. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, football, baseball, and dreams of traveling to Australia. She shares her home with her English Cream Golden Retriever, Samson, and is a strong advocate for senior pet care.
Dr. Liz Passmore joined Mount Airy Veterinary Associates in November 2023. A Maryland native, she earned her degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Maryland, College Park, and her DVM from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Since graduating in 2014, she has worked as a small animal general practitioner in Maryland and North Carolina.
Dr. Passmore enjoys the challenge of veterinary medicine and the opportunity to help both pets and their people. She loves working alongside a supportive, fun-loving team.
Outside work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her kids, her horse, her Irish Setter, Reagan, and her senior cat, Sam.

Yes, we do. Our veterinarians care for small mammals including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, hedgehogs, rats, mice, and sugar gliders in addition to cats and dogs.
Absolutely. We provide urgent care appointments during our regular hospital hours. Call ahead if you can so we can prepare for your arrival.
